RECEIVE REVELATION
Actively seek to receive revelation for your own life and as a means to bless others. Consider deeply President Nelson’s caution that, “In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.” Strive to more fully receive the Holy Ghost in guiding your daily thoughts, actions, plans, decisions, opinions, and interactions with others. See Moroni 10:5; D&C 8:2-3; D&C 9:7-9; John 14:16- 18,26; 2 Nephi 32:5; 1 Kings 19:12; D&C 42:61
REPENT DAILY
Repent daily, focusing on your words, thoughts, responses, motivations, aspirations, comparisons, self-degradation, and any action not matching the Savior’s example, and ask for His grace, His enabling power, to lift you past weaknesses, including those you thought you could not overcome.
Repentance is not a stress creating, smothering feeling of being inadequate or not enough. Repentance is a joyful and liberating journey of having Christ lift you daily in drawing you closer to Him. Prepare for and worthily partake of the sacrament as a weekly accounting and connection to the Savior. See D&C 16:6; 58:42,43; Isaiah 1:16-18; Elder Bednar “In the Strength of the Lord” BYU Speeches, 23 October 2001; Proverbs 28:3; Matthew 3:8; Luke 15:7; Alma 12:24
RECEIVE THE TEMPLE & FIND SACRED PLACES
Receive the temple as a place of salvation for the dead and also for us, the living. Receive it as a house of revelation, of peace, of reflection, of understanding, of learning, of safety, of resolution, of covenants with God, given as a strength to those striving to be faithful in the latter days. Also, to all of us, regardless of age or circumstance, we invite you to develop other geographic places of connection to the Savior (i.e., a room, a chair, a porch, a closet, a car ride with no radio, your commute, a mountain, a walk, etc.) where you can regularly go to separate yourself from distraction and to connect to His power, answers, guidance, healing, and joy. As President Nelson taught, “We hear Jesus Christ better when we are still.” We invite you to find quiet places to be still to receive revelation. See 2 Nephi 12:2-3; D&C 88:119; 138:47-48; 124:3; 38:32,38; 101:16
As the Stake Presidency, we invite you to read closely, ponder, and study the message of this vision as it applies to you. As the impressions came for these three vital principles, the overriding message was that the Lord is inviting us one-by-one, very personally, to make these efforts in each of our lives. You might even substitute your name or
“I” into each line, to further appreciate the emphasis this is on you personally. Our feeling is that the Savior is trying to heighten the spirituality, righteousness, and faith of each one of us individually, as we each prepare for His second coming.
